{Fab Find}Dolce Vita Inspired ‘Archer’ Sandals

Hey lovelies! I was browsing around in Target and saw these cute flat gladiator style sandals. The gold detail stood out to me but since I was on my lunch break, and was running out of time, I didn’t get them. A week or so passed and I completely forgot about them. I was reading my People Style Watch magazine {June 2012} and came across the Dolce Vita ‘Archer’. My first reaction “Hey, I saw a similar shoe like this at Target for way cheap”. I immediately flagged the page with my lil’ post it tab. What a huge price difference. I’m definitely going back to Target to get these babies.

Hey lovelies! If you love African inspired clothing as much as I do, then you’ll fall head over heels with Dearcurves. OMG!! I got super excited when I saw their designs. Vibrant colors, and patterns, and prints oh my!

Dearcurves is a UK based online boutique that is, according to the designer, “heavily influenced by African women”. All of their clothing is made with an African fabric known as Ankara.

Dearcurves recently released their Spring/Summer 2012 collection and it is FAB! This collection includes figure flattering dresses, body con skirts, and lots of color.

These skirts are giving me so much life. They have been officially added to my Wish List.

{OOTD}Maxi Zig Zag Patterns

Hey lovelies! Today I received the phone call that I’ve been dreading for some time now. I knew this day would come because me and my family were prepared for it. My mom called this morning to tell me that today may be my grandmothers last day with us. That was at 8:30 this morning, so you know how the rest of my day went. I truly love my grandma and wish I could’ve spent more time with her. That’s one thing about moving away that I regret, being away from my family.

I am deeply sadden by the news I received but I’m not going to dwell in my sorrow. My grandma wouldn’t have wanted that. So moving on, today I wore one of my favorite maxi dresses that I got from Ross. I absolutely LOVE maxi dresses. Not only do they cover up any unlikable parts but they’re SO freakin’ comfortable. I only managed to snap a few pictures of what I wore to work today. I’m pretty sure you can tell in my face that I’m not all there. But I’ll be ok.

This weekend me and my crew relaxed, ate good BBQ, spent time in “the country”, and played it out at the park. My boys had Momma & Daddy out there running around throwing Frisbees & Footballs {Yes, Momma can get down in a dress too- Lol!}.

If you don’t take anything else from this blog- those with children spend as much time with them as you can. It’s the little things that count and it’s the little things that they remember the most. Love them & cherish every moment. Create those memories with them. It doesn’t cost a thing.

I got this maxi dress from Ross too. Ross is like the best place to get dresses. Not only are they reasonably priced but they’re super fashionable and cute! If you haven’t noticed by now, I have been rockn’ patterns & prints like there’s no tomorrow.

{Real Deal} No more Rainbow in my town

Hey lovelies! Today after work I decided to stop by my area Rainbow Fashion store. This was actually my first time going to this one, which is sad because I only live 5 minutes away. I did just move to the area a few months ago so there…that’s my excuse.

Some people are a little leery about shopping at stores like Rainbow because of the quality of their items. Yes, its true some stuff does look cheap and isn’t worth the money. But the solution to that is knowing how to shop and what to look for. When I go to stores like this I look for snags in the material, holes, basically anything damaged. This is how I shop period. And if it looks too cheap then I won’t buy it. Quite frankly I don’t care where my clothes come from. If its cute I’m going to buy it. I’m all about saving as many dollars and penny's as I can.

Any who, when I got to the store there were “Everything Must Go” signs plastered all over the place. Wow! was all I could say. First time going to this location and the store is closing. But that didn’t stop me from taking full advantage of the huge markdowns. When I walked in I was initially disappointed because it was empty and I missed the good stuff. There were only a few racks of clothes left, a few accessories, and absolutely NO SHOES! That broke my heart {you know how much I love shoes}. Oh well, I snapped out of it and started doing what I do best…shopping.

I asked the ladies why they were closing and they said its because no one knew they were there and they weren’t getting business. This store was tucked back and if you weren’t looking you’ll miss it. I guess location is key when operating a business.

This is what I managed to grab. It’s not much but hey. Plus I saved major bucks.



And because I love music so much….

I am really digging this song!! I’ve been jammin’ it all day. “Can I get a REFILLLLL” {imagine me attempting to sing} Lol Elle Varner needs to come to H-town. She’s super dope!

Hey lovelies! Judging by the song lyrics I’m pretty sure you can tell that today was not my day. I had a “feeling bloated” and “major migraine” kind of day. We all have these days once a month, which sucks big time {ladies you know what I’m talking about}.

I decided to wear this dress at the last minute thinking that it was going to be sunny and hot out today. I was wrong. It ended up being cloudy and cool. I honestly didn’t mind because I was in a cloudy mood anyways.

I got this dress from Forever 21+ about a year ago. I love the colors in this dress. I’ve worn it so many times in in a lot different ways. With cami, without cami, with blazer, with leggings, and so on. This dress is so versatile. I also like the slit sleeves and detail. Today I decided to throw a red blazer over it that I thrifted a month or so ago. I get so many compliments when I wear this blazer. I kept the accessories at minimum to keep the attention on the dress itself.
